I have been using the Manage my Horse website for a few years now. It is a free service the management of which has recently been taken over by Horse & Country TV.
It allows you to store details of your horses and business and record journal entries, appointments, veterinary, hoof and dental case, worming schedule, competitions, expenses, income, feed stock, staff details, emergency contacts and just about anything else you can think of. You can then produce reports on everything whenever you need them and you can keep tabs (if you dare!) on how much your horse(s) cost to keep.
It’s not perfect (nothing is) and I’d perhaps not try to use the income and expenses sections as the sole basis for a tax return, but it really is pretty good for a free bit of software and because it’s cloud-based you can access it from wherever you are as long as you have an internet connection. I would probably draw the line at running a feed report on my phone while in the field poo-picking but I could if I wanted!
